HERNDON, Va.– Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU), the $4.3 Billion, 365,000 member Massachusetts-based credit union, is now offering its members access to “File Vault,” DCU’s branded version of DigitalMailer’s newest product, Virtual StrongBox.
File Vault allows DCU members to upload sensitive documents via a single sign-on to a secure, easy-to-use interface. Documents are encrypted during upload to the server and can only be added, deleted, or otherwise manipulated by their owners.
“We felt that Virtual StrongBox was a terrific product for our members,” said David Araujo, Vice President of Information Systems for DCU “and when we learned we could brand it our own way, we were delighted. Now, we’re providing a useful service that promises to solidify member relationships.
“The product was built to allow branding to suit the financial institution’s best interests and the interests of the members,” said Greg Crandell, Executive VP of Business Development and Sales at DigitalMailer. “DCU is the perfect place for this – a storage service that, like its ‘cloud’ counterparts, offers ease-of-use and simple file management, but with total information privacy that gives users control of, and singular access to, their important documents.”
DCU is the second credit union to implement Virtual StrongBox. Northwest Federal Credit Union in Herndon, VA was the first to offer secure file storage to its 100,000+ members earlier this year. Adoption has been steadily increasing with both private members and businesses.
