Popular secure service channel offers ultra-safe alternative to legacy bank data security

Charlotte, N.C. and San Francisco, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2016)

Western Independent Bankers (WIB), a trade association serving more than 140 community banks, announced today that it has selected Virtual StrongBox, Inc., known for its secure document storage and file exchange.

WIB chose Virtual StrongBox’s cloud-based, secure data system because of its infrastructure, flexibility and proven ability to meet high-level security and data-protection needs.

Using Virtual StrongBox’s patented, protected customer engagement platform will provide WIB the strong security to meet enterprise IT data-protection needs.

Virtual StrongBox enables bankers to deliver a secure service channel for customers to store files in private, online storage spaces where they are not co-mingled with other customers’ files. Bank customers can exchange documents and files securely with their bank, or other parties. In turn, the bank may use the service to exchange and/or distribute documents securely with any of its customers using the My Virtual StrongBox service. If a bank wants to, the service can be integrated behind online banking apps.

Financial institutions, wealth managers, regulators, healthcare firms and many other types of companies continually handle sensitive customer information. Ron Daly, President/CEO of Virtual StrongBox, Inc., says licensing Virtual StrongBox’s highly secure platform takes cloud security to the highest level.

“We’re excited to partner with the WIB to bring the My Virtual StrongBox service to community bankers in the West because, as a secure system built with financial service providers in mind, we are confident they will find it a valuable and unique offering for their customers and their own, sensitive information,” Daly said.

Michael R. Delucchi , President/CEO of WIB, says the association looks forward to the more robust security Virtual StrongBox will bring to its member banks, as well as its own needs.

“VSB’s secure customer engagement platform will give our member banks the confidence and peace of mind that comes with knowing their customers’ information is protected, while allowing them to streamline processes by offering a safe way to instantly exchange files,” Delucchi said.
